For the first time, we’re offering every one of our supporters the chance to apply your donation to the area of need that means the most to YOU. For each category below, we’ve offered examples of items in our program budget that can be covered by your donation, to show how every dollar contributed impacts the lives of children.
Camper Scholarships
For many of our contributors like you, the chance to send a young person to camp with the help of a Camper Scholarship is the most important support you can provide. Our single biggest goal of the Spring Campaign is to provide as many kids the opportunity to attend camp as we can, and YOU can play a vital role in achieving that goal. Infrastructure Repair And Improvements
Camp Vacamas has 230 acres of woodland and trails, including 65 acres of lake and lakefront, and dozens of buildings and facilities including our ropes course and sports fields. The need to maintain and improve our infrastructure never stops. YOU can help us in so many ways this Spring.
Supplies and Materials For Our Kids
Swimming, boating, biking, camping, hiking archery, ropes course, basketball, theater, creative writing, arts and crafts, robotics, coding, environmental learning, agriculture, cooking…summer at Camp Vacamas provides a diverse and rewarding range of activities and projects! We use a tremendous amount of supplies and materials to provide them. YOU can help us ensure we have enough of everything we need in good condition for every camper.
Afterschool Programs Throughout The Year
From 3:00-6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, hundreds of students attend the Hands In 4 Youth Afterschool Program in our partner elementary and middle schools in New York City. Along with homework help, physical activities and daily projects that support what our students learn during their school day, we also bring them to Camp Vacamas for a sleepaway camp experience several times during the year. YOU can help us provide this vital service to deserving kids throughout the city.
